The Throne Room at the Royal Palace of Naples in Italy

The Throne Room The Throne Room of the Royal Palace of Naples has undergone several alterations reflecting the tastes of successive kings of Naples.
The baldachin above the throne dates from the 19th century, but was rebuilt in keeping with the shape and in the same position as that of Charles of Bourbon.
It is made of dark red velvet and adorned with silver motifs.
We do know, however, that in the time of Joachim Murat, the baldachin featured a checkerboard pattern in blue, white and red.
The throne itself dates from 1820. It is covered in red velvet.

The Throne Room The eagle at the top was added in 1860.
The paintings in the throne room depict the rulers of Naples.
Here one can see a large portrait of Ferdinand I, King of the Two Sicilies, painted by Vincenzo Camuccini in 1818–1819.
Also on display in this room are two paintings by Giuseppe Bonito depicting the visit of Hagi Hussein Effendi to the Turkish embassy on 30 August 1741.
A large crystal chandelier illuminates the superb ceiling adorned with motifs and figures in gilded stucco.
